Tips for Balancing Work and Motherhood (Part 2)

On part 1, you have already read the guide on how to balance work and motherhood. It’s not always easy, but does not mean you cannot do that. If you fully work from home, there will be few pros and cons you need to face.

First, working from home enables you to control the kids all the time and stick to their daily schedule. On the other hand, your work schedule is probably not as precise as at the office. Yes, you probably have set your work at home from 9 to 5. But unwanted condition sometimes forces you to start earlier or later than the fix schedule you would have had if you work at “real” office.

The challenge of working from home is definitely bigger than you imagine. It’s about how to set the priority. Try to prioritize appointments during traditional day time hours. Instead of doing what you want to do, do the things you must do first. That’s the key. Thanks to the advance of technology which enables us to read and do other tasks at any time and place, thus everything can be easier to handle.

Since everyday can be truly stressful, why don’t you schedule a mommy day? It’s very recommended. Your “mommy day” does not have to be on Saturday. You can set one day when you are least busy and do not need to do so many tasks. Take some time, enjoy your day by having some naps, read your favorite books, magazine, etc and even have some fun time with friends.

If it is impossible for you to leave your kids at home, then would be better to invite your friends to come. If they have little kids too, then it could be even more interesting. It’s always fun to meet friends at a time, share experience about parenting, motherhood and other interesting things while supervising children at the same time, right?
